Indian Army provides the option for employees to get a Permanent Commission, which means a career in the Army until you retire. In order to be able to get this, it is required to join the National Defence Academy, or Indian Military Academy, Dehradun or Officers Training Academy, Gaya.
Technical Graduate Course
For candidates, who at the time of application are studying in final year or have completed BE/B.Tech in notified streams, there is the chance to join IMA via registering for a Technical Graduate Course. Advertisements are frequently published in leading newspapers/employment news in May/Jun & Nov/Dec every year.
Candidates who are selected will be given Short Service Commission on probation in the rank of the lieutenant staring the date of commencement of the course, or the date of reporting at IMA, whichever of these is later. During that period, these candidates will receive full pay and allowances admissible to the rank. Pay and allowances will be given after training has been successfully completed.
The training will extend over one year, and chosen candidates will be detailed for train gin at Indian Military Academy, Dehradun, based on position in the final order of merit, as well as the number of vacancies available in respective subjects. Once training has been successfully completed, cadets are given Permanent Commission in the Army in the rank of Lieutenant. Officers are given commission in any Arms/Services, and take up liability for service in any part of the world on selected appointments as tentatively decided by Army Headquarters. Engineering graduates of TGC entry will get one year ante date the seniority from the date of omission.
Only those candidates that have passed Post Graduate Degree MA/M.Sc in subjects as per notification or M.Com/MCA/MBA with I or II division are eligible for AEC.
