The Indian Navy is seeking application for meritorious candidates for Short Service Commissioned Officers In Executive Branch – Hydrograph.
DUTIES OF HYDROGRAPHY OFFICER
Hydrography is one of the sub-specializations of the Executive branch of the Indian Navy, which qualifies officers to take Hydrographic Surveys of uncharted Indian and foreign waters for production of nautical charts for safe navigation at sea. Hydrography contributes towards safety at sea and also plays a big role in successful completion of various coastal/offshore development development projects. Officers joining the cadre undergo internationally recognized hydrographic courses, which would qualify them to undertake hydrographic tasks all over the world.
Age – 19 1/2 to 25 years, the candidate should be born between 2nd July 1991 and 1 Jan 1997, both dates inclusive.
Education – BE/BTech with minimum 65% marks aggregate from a recognized university.
Height and weight – Minimum height of 157 cm with correlated weight.
Eye-Sight – Without glasses 6/12 with glasses 6/6.
Tattoo – Permanent body tattoo on any part of the body is allowed to candidates belonging to tribal communities/areas as declared by the Indian Government. For other candidates, permanent body tattoos are only permitted on the inner face of forearms, i.e. from inside of elbow to the wrist and the reverse side of palm/back side of hand.
