Indian Army to Conduct Recruitment Rally in Salem in August

The Indian Army is set to conduct a recruitment drive for soldier candidates from eleven southern and western districts of Tamil Nadu at the Mahatma Gandhi Stadium in Salem from August 22 to September 02, 2018. The recruitment rally is organized to enroll eligible candidates into the Indian Army who hail from the districts that come under Army Recruiting Office at Coimbatore, which includes Coimbatore, Erode, Salem, Dindigul, Tirupur, Krishnagiri, Madurai, The Nilgiris, Dharmapuri, Namakkal, and Theni.

The Salem District Collector, Rohini Bhajibhakare, told news reporters that the Army recruitment rally would be conducted for posts Soldier (General Duty), Soldier (Technical), Soldier (Tradesman), Soldier (Nursing Assistant), Soldier Technical (Aviation and Ammunition Examiner), Soldier (Clerk or Store Keeper Technical). Eligible candidates can apply for the said posts via the official website of Indian Army from July 8 to August 6, 2018.

Candidates need to register on the join Army website to apply, and they can download the admit cards two days after the last date of submitting the application through the website. The date of attending at the recruitment rally site would be notified on the admit card, which candidates can print from the website.

Aspiring applicants can check the official Indian Army recruitment notification at the website for eligibility criteria and educational qualifications for the said posts. They can also clarify doubts related to the recruitment by contacting ARO Coimbatore via telephone.

The Director of Recruiting for Coimbatore, Colonel R. J. Rane, said that a recruitment drive featuring around 50,000 participants was conducted in 2006 in Salem. He also added that this time, about 100,000 candidates are expected to participate in the Army recruitment rally. On the other hand, the District Collector said that various steps have been taken to ensure that the recruitment drive goes ahead smoothly.

The basic amenities, security, lighting, and sanitation facilities will be given to the candidates who will report to the Mahatma Gandhi Stadium on the days of the rally from remote areas. The District Collector of Salem further said that the Indian Army officials are in regular contact with the line departments who are responsible to make arrangements for the recruitment rally.
