Indian Army To Conduct Recruitment Rally At Madurai

In a recent announcement, officials from the Indian Army confirmed that they would be conducting a recruitment rally at the Dr. MGR Stadium (Racecourse Road), Madurai, from August 19 to 31, 2017. Candidates from Coimbatore, Salem, Tiruppur, Nilgiris, Namakkal, Madurai, Dindigul, Theni, Dharmapuri, Erode, and Krishnagiri districts of Tamil Nadu would be allowed to attend the recruitment program to join Army, if they fulfill the eligibility criteria.

In addition to that, interested and eligible candidates from Andhra Pradesh, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Puducherry, Telegana, and other districts of Tamil Nadu who have already applied for Havildar Education (Army Education Corps) category would also be eligible to take part in the Army recruitment rally at Madurai.

Interested candidates can submit an online application from July 05 to 03, 2017 through the official website of Indian Army. Shortlisted candidates are advised to bring their application and admit card to the rally site. More details about this recruitment rally are as follows.

  • Soldier Technical (AMN/ AVN)
  • Soldier Nursing Assistant
  • Soldier General Duty
  • Soldier Tradesman
  • Soldier Clerk/ Store Keeper Technical
  • Havildar Education (Army Education Corps)

Educational Qualifications

Candidates who have successfully completed their plus 2 in Science with Maths, English, Chemistry, and Physics with an aggregate mark of 50 percent and at least 40 percent marks in each individual subject can apply for the post of Soldier Technical in the Indian Army.

Candidates who meet the above-mentioned educational qualifications can apply for the post of Soldier Technical (AMN/ AVN). In addition to that, applicants who have completed three years Diploma in Mechanical, Automobiles, Electrical, Computer Science, and Electronic and Instrumentation Engineering, from a recognized ITI or Polytechnic institute can also apply for the post.

Interested candidates who are planning to apply for Havildar Education (Army Education Corps) category must have a working knowledge of Hindi or English or both. In addition to that, they should also possess a postgraduate or graduate degree from a recognized board or university in the country. Educational qualifications for the remaining posts can be found on the official notification of the Army recruitment rally.


Candidates who are applying for the above-mentioned posts should be medically fit and they will also have to undergo a few physical tests. In addition to that, applicants who are below the age of 18 must bring their parents’ consent certificate to the rally site.
