The Army recruitment rally for youth of Fatehpur district, Uttar Pradesh, which was supposed to be held at the Cantonment centre yesterday, has been moved to another date because of the incessant rain in the area. Col. PDS Bal, the recruitment officer for the rally, informed that the Army recruitment test is postponed to be held on to 13 August.
In his letter to ADM (city), Col. Bal said that the new date and venue for the Army recruitment rally will be officially informed to District Administration as soon as possible, in order to make the necessary arrangements for conducting the event. The recruitment rally was scheduled from July 29 to August 8 in the city, but due to heavy downpour the July 28 test was been rescheduled after two days on August 2. Yet again, due to continuing heavy rain in Kanpur, the recruitment officers are forced to reschedule it to some other day within August 8.
The downpour has not stopped yet and the situation is more likely to remain the same in the coming days, making it hard for the Army recruitment test to be scheduled. Col. Bal said that if the current weather remains unchanged, there is no other option but to postpone the recruitment rally dates further.
According to estimates, around 8937 youth aspirants from Kannauj district are appearing for August 3 test, whereas around 7109 candidates from Gonda district, and about 6084 applicants from Unnao District are expected to appear for the rally on August 4 and 5 respectively.
On August 6, around 9982 candidates will appear for test from Kanpur Dehat district. In addition to these numbers, around 7994 candidates from Kanpur Nagar (Sadar Tehsei) and about 4996 youth applicants from Bilhaur and Ghatampur Tehsils including all the IDG candidates from all Districts are expected to appear for the Indian Army recruitment test on August 7 and on August 8 respectively.
However, if the present weather conditions persist, the test for candidates from August 3 to 8 will be uncertain. The upcoming recruitment test, if postponed, will cause the Army recruitment board to issue new dates or even change the venue. As of now, the candidates attending the rallies are requested to go through updates on the dates to avoid any confusion.
