Brahmos Missile test fired from INS Kochi

The Navy on Saturday successfully test-fired the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile from its newly-commissioned stealth destroyer INS Kochi, the largest-ever warship built in India till now, in the Arabian Sea on Sunday morning.

As programmed the missile with a range of 290 KMs hit the target, a decommissioned ship called Alleppey, with almost pinpoint accuracy during this first-ever vertical launch from the 7,500-tonne INS Kochi. For the record,  each warship carries 16 missiles in two eight-cell launch systems.
